In an announcement, Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke paid tribute to the wonderful work done by seniors throughout the electorate, emphasising their contribution to their communities often through organisations like Lions, Rotary, CWA, hospital auxiliaries, meals on wheels and so on.
I too appreciate, as we all should, the work of our senior citizens, but therein lies a problem - senior.
Where are the young people coming forward and making their contribution.
The Senior Festival is a nice touch, but I truly wish we could have an age encompassing recognition of all helpers from young to old. It is nice to see CWA does have some youthful volunteers.

Last week I again mentioned the growing problem of youth crime.
Mentioned was education begins at home. I found an interesting piece in a book 'Gathering Dark' by Candice Fox in which a murderer on Death Row talking about why he became 'bad' said, "It might sound scary out there (in the big world) without the things that tie people down - consequences, guilt, fear, panic. But if no one teaches you those things, if no one ever instils in you a sense of guilt, then there is nothing riding on your shoulders telling you to be a good person.
The first sense of guilt you got is from your parents for disappointing them." It is, unfortunately, a growing problem facing authorities and well minded thinkers do have their say, but there could be a clue in little things you read, but answers sadly need to be found soon.
John Laws I heard on an ad for his morning show probably summed it up very simply saying, "Where are the parents?" Governments are looking for answers with NSW Premier Minns announcing a six point plan. Six points that, I don't think get completely to the crux of the matter. We'll keep an eye on this development.

It's always a pleasure to welcome new persons in our businesses, both personally but also physically. Best wishes to Sarah Robinson operating as 'Indulge' but working under the banner Bliss in the Pudman Street hairdressing salon.
The salon has been redecorated, looks a treat and besides hairdressing, branching out a little, offering gift wares.

Don't the media know how to beat up a story.
We are all well aware Princess Kate has undergone obviously major abdominal surgery and the Palace has not been too forthcoming in keeping us informed regarding her recovery.
A photo of Kate and the three children is released and what have you got? A huge tsunami claiming it to be a fake - photo shopped. I mean to say, it's heart-warming, re-assuring to say the least and serving a very positive purpose. Surely there are more serious issues to fill up our media services?

The local fellow I mentioned last week who reckons it only takes one beer to make him drunk, not knowing whether it is the thirteenth or fourteenth, definitely has a problem.
His wife walked into the bedroom and saw him poking around with a tube of lipstick, actually putting lipstick in his ear.
The wife reckons he has a problem and screamed at him, "What the hell are you doing? What's wrong with you?" He looked at her, shrugged and said, "I'm just making up my mind!"
