Hilltops Council has provided the Tubbul community an update on the Tubbul Waste Facility, with the current facility closing and a temporary transfer station being opened.
"Council would like to inform the public that the landfill cell at the Tubbul Waste Facility has reached the end of its operational life and will be closed and remediated," Council said.
"To ensure continued waste disposal services, a new temporary Waste Transfer Station has been set up."
According to Council the facilities at the temporary transfer station will have ample capacity for waste disposal.
"Six three-meter-square front lift bins have been installed, providing ample capacity for waste disposal and facilitating a smooth transition from the landfill to the new Waste Transfer Station," Council said.

"Waste collection for these bins will take place every Tuesday and Friday, with both domestic general waste and recycling transported to the Victoria Street Waste Facility in Young for processing."
Council is also advising residents to take all other waste to the Victoria Street Waste Facility or another appropriately licensed facility.
